Initially I thought the problem was the format of the drive (exfat). Now Solid Explorer will display all the files and open them with VLC player, but VLC, and the the players illram has tried will not browse the thumb drive. I thought Music Folder Player would allow me to play my music via Bluetooth, but found that my Pixel 3 would not access the thumb drive - it would mount the drive, and display the folders, but Solid Explorer would display "Access Denied" if I tried to display the contents of a folder.
